Green River, UT 2006
***Scroll down as there are more new pictures up!! 7.12.06***
So, maybe Eileen was feeling sick that day or she just wasn't thinking that day, but for some reason, she decided to say yes when Roger asked her to go on his annual fly fishing trip to Utah. When their daughter, Jen, found it, she wondered who had abducted her mother. Ok, ok, maybe it's not so ridiculous to imagine Eileen going camping. I mean, 10-15 years ago, the family went camping a lot. We would go into our local mountains, or maybe even up to Montana and go camping out in the woods. Roger would teach his daughter how to fly fish, while Eileen followed behind with patience and a pair of scissors to untangle Jen's fly's from trees. But Jen wouldn't be going this time, as she was floating aimlessly around in the Bering Sea. Could it be, Roger and Eileen would finally go camping together again like they used to 26 years ago before Jen came around. Apparently so. So, they packed up Little Red (Roger's Ford Blazer for future reference) and headed north together up through Mesquite, NV and Lehi, UT (had to visit the new Cabela's without your daughter, didn't you???!) and then finally to the Flaming Gorge Recreation Area in northeastern Utah. The Green River is a rather prominent river flowing through the area where the fish are abundant and quite tricky to catch. (Hint: Read Day 15 on Jen's website for her adventures on the Green River last June) A week later, the pair returned in one piece with stories to tell and a few mosquito bites to remind them of living the life in the woods. Although, your friendly author (i.e. the daughter floating in the Bering Sea), has not gotten to hear many of these stories yet and in turn has only heard that Eileen caught the biggest fish. YES!!! But, I have a few pictures to post, so I hope you all enjoy. Hopefully, Roger will send his loving daughter some more pictures to put up that will tell the story of their fun camping trip a bit more. Hint...hint... Enjoy!!

Here's Roger looking quite the fisherman in his fly fishing vest and waders. As you can see, the Green River is quite a pretty river with very clear water. You can actually see the fish as they swim by your fly or lure mocking you.

This is the trail that follows right along side the river for something like 6 miles. Pretty, pretty. Since Eileen likes hiking, I'm sure she must have enjoyed this trail.
Oh look!!
There she goes....up a rocky path. Hmm...wonder what she was trying to
find? Actually, this was taken in a place called Marble Canyon. This
was another stop among many on their trip.

Another great shot of the Green River from the trail. The river was quite a bit lower than usual this year. But still just as pretty.

Well, here's the proof. Mom really did catch a fish...fairly good size one too. And of course, it was the main entry for dinner that night. Mmmm....trout!!!

So, here's dad fishing on a much smaller river somewhere in Utah. Once again, looking great in those waders and vest. Wonder if he was able to catch anything here??
Eileen
used to love camping, but as the years went by, the idea of sleeping with bugs
and other little critters made her choose other, more comfortable ways of
spending her evenings. But somehow, Roger talked her into going camping
again after all these years. She had two requests......a new tent (shown
here) and a porta-potti (also shown here), because there was no chance in hell
that she was going to get up at night and walk to the bathroom in the dark.
She looks very proud of her porta-potti there, doesn't she?
Apparently though,
after 5 days of camping in a tent with a porta-potti and Roger, Eileen wasn't satisfied.
Therefore, there is a new addition to the King Family. Meet the Rialta.
I'm not sure if this was bought on a whim or planned, but now Eileen has a bed,
toilet, sink, shower, refrigerator, microwave, air conditioning, awning, etc and
a new tent and porta-potti.
All the amenities to make camping so much more fun for her and so much more
expensive for Roger.
