May 2007
Apparently the key to getting Eileen back out to the woods was not the purchase of a new porta-potti or even a new tent. No...she needed a bit more than that. A small RV seemed to be perfect. Nothing too big for them, just enough space for a bed, a small galley and a small bathroom, just in case they were attacked by man-eating bears, sand storms or the uncontrollable urge to pee in the middle of the night. So, off Roger and Eileen went to Montana and Idaho. Stops included Lone Pine, CA, Wade Lake and Island Park, ID and Missoula, MT. There is even a rumor that mom caught the biggest fish...AGAIN!! Could the rumors be true?! Is mom actually the better fisher-person? I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the official tally is at the end of the year.
Ahh...the
expert chef is at it again. I'm not sure which is scarier...Roger cooking
or me (his daughter) cooking.
Look at
that smile!! Must be really good corn.
There's the
little RV parked in a nice little camping spot. Looks much more
comfortable than sleeping on the hard ground with a thin sheet of nylon over
you, trying to convince yourself that you don't have to go walk out in the
spooky darkness to go to the bathroom.
Here's Eileen
setting up for fishing. I later asked her how long she fished for.
She replied, "Well, after taking 30 minutes to get those stupid waders and boots
on, I threw my fly in the water, let it drift for little bit, took a few more
casts and then reeled my fly back in and sat down to read for a while.
Then, after never even getting close to water, it took me another 30 minutes to
get the ridiculous outfit off, so that I could sit down more comfortably and
read." Ahhh...that's my mom for you!! A reading monster.
There's Rog again
showing off to the neighbors. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten pulled over
for wearing his pants that high. This guy seems to be laughing quite a
bit...Roger must have really exaggerated his fishing story this time. I
must add that this fish was caught in Wade Lake where I caught the biggest trout
of my life two years before. Because I'm such a loving daughter, I have to
add...."Nice fish Dad!! Mine was still bigger!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!"
