Monterey Visit October 2008
The parents met Jennifer in Monterey for a few days of sun and fun. Well, it was sun for Jen as fall has come around and that means rain....rain...and well, more rain in Seattle. Of course, the weekend she left it was nice and sunny in Seattle, but details, details. Anyway, the family met in Monterey for a long time family friend's wedding. Erik Deck, who grew up with Jen was getting married to a lovely girl by the name of Katie. It was a beautiful wedding with the sun coming out just before the wedding and provided a nice afternoon. The rest of the trip was spent visiting with Monterey friends and golfing with Dad. Somehow, Jen lost $10 in the golfing adventure, but she had fun and will get her father back on another trip. Next summer.....revenge in the Tetons or Yellowstone. Yikes!! A new hazard....bears!!
Looking sharp at the wedding!
Erik and
I.
Cool
table settings. Pretty in the sun. Ok, sometimes I get a little
artsy.
The
driving range at the golf course on Fort Ord, where I used to go to school.
Obviously taken before the competition started.
I thought
it was a lovely evening out, but mom thought she was in the Artic. But we
still had a nice campfire at the RV park. Funny how much easier wood burns
when it is dry instead of damp like we have in Washington. Lights up in
seconds, instead of 30 minutes.
Lining up
for a killer drive.
Dad and I on
one of our favorite holes right along the shoreline. If you have ever
played golf with my father, you know how nervous he gets around water. I
love this hole!!
Dad
walking towards his ball. Fortunately, he didn't put a hole in the
lighthouse window.
Mom
at one of her first lighthouses. Pt. Pinos Lighthouse. This is where
she got her first stamp in her lighthouse book.
Moving
target!
The
after-party gloating starts. I think he's pretending to be pouring
champagne on his head. Or he really just is as weird as we all had
thought!
Birthday
Party at the new Islands Restaurant in Monterey. Fun was had by all, if
you couldn't tell.
