Vandenberg Air Force Base, Lompoc, CA
Well, this was just a quick little overnight trip up to Vandenberg AFB and back. One of the Boeing Delta IV rockets that Eileen had worked on a few years before was being launched and Roger, being the rocket geek (I'm sorry, "enthusiast") that he is, wanted to go watch the launch. So, they hopped into the new Rialta and headed north toward the Vandenberg AFB and Lompoc, CA. Apparently, they just made it in time. Once they had parked the campervan, four minutes later, they saw the launch. Talk about just making it in time. They spent the night in their new campervan and headed back the next day. A quick little trip, but well worth it, I imagine.
