This week was a rather slow week as our Kings Pointer trip was postponed due to high winds on Monday and Tuesday. So, much of the week's schedule was rearranged to give us something to do on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, we started learning about celestial navigation, which is now right up there along side of Radar and asparagus, on my list of things I incredibly dislike. We also got into Morse Code, which was somewhat humorous as after class you could walk up and down the hallways and people were talking in dits and dahs to each other practicing. Thursday, ADM De Bow visited us and gave us a nice presentation on his career as well as some other NOAA stuff. We then got to go out and have some drinks with him, which was fun. Nothing like playing pool against an Admiral. Anyway, it's a short entry this week as I don't have many pictures and we didn't do as much as other weeks. Next week though, I will put up the pictures from our first cruise aboard the Kings Pointer as well as some more small boat handling. Enjoy!!

checking out the Morale board. Many messages were displayed in Morse Code
for a few days. As a few days went by, messages became longer as we were
able to memorize more letters.
Roommates:
Caryn and Jen. A little fun at the local bar. Apparently, I was
acting a little goofy that night. See next picture. *Photo

Here I am gettin' down with
it. The girls couldn't believe their eyes. I was dancing and for
some reason, that made them laugh....a lot. Oh well, as long as I could
provide them with some entertainment. *Photo by Caryn
Here's
ADM De Bow lining up a shot. I'm not sure who won the game as I wasn't
around (I believe I was dancing in another corner), but I hear he was a good
player. What a cool thing though, having beers with the admiral after a
day's work. *Photo by Caryn
